Can you believe that The Brand Gypsy is going to turn 4 this year! It’s been an incredible journey so far and I am grateful for all the love and support from my readers and clients. With that being said, it has been almost 4 years since I have written a post about myself and what better time to do it than around my birthday.
So in this blog post, I want to share some background information about the face behind The Brand Gypsy 🙂
Who am I?
My name is Kayla and I am the creator, director, and only employee of The Brand Gypsy. I have always been passionate about design and creativity, which led me down a path of finding freelancing as a career option and eventually starting my own business.
How it all began
I started The Brand Gypsy back in 2019 after deciding that working for someone else was no longer fulfilling for me as my skills where being bashed rather than nurtured. I wanted to have creative control over my work and be able to connect with clients on a deeper level. Plus, who doesn’t love the freedom of being their own boss?
Why the name ‘The Brand Gypsy’?
Many people often ask me about the name of my company, and it has a special meaning to me. Being a gypsy means being constantly on the move, exploring new places and ideas. And that’s exactly what I do as a website and graphic designer – I help my clients explore their brand’s potential and create unique online experiences/designs.
My experience as a freelancer
The last four years of being self-employed have been an amazing rollercoaster ride filled with highs and lows. It has been a learning experience, from managing finances and clients to constantly improving my design skills. But the most rewarding part has been seeing my clients’ businesses grow and succeed with the help of my designs.
I still cannot believe sometimes that I have built a successful business from the comfort of my own home.

As I look back on these past four years, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead. The future for The Brand Gypsy is bright and full of opportunities to work with new clients, expand my skills, and continue creating unique designs that make a difference.
