Why have a Website?

Blog Post: Why have a website?

In a previous blog post, I spoke about the importance of having a website but now I would like to get into the specifics of why you or your business needs a website.

With social media and google platforms available, creating a successful brand presence is possible most companies. However, many people still look if a business has a website or not before they decide to go ahead with the product or service.

If they can’t find a website for a company, it puts doubt in their mind (this has happened to me when I am searching for a company and find no website and only a Facebook page for example.)

Not having a website does not mean a company is not professional but it does give off that stigma which leads people to mostly work with companies who have a website and an up to date social media presence.

Some reasons why people hold businesses in high regards because they have a website is:

  1. It has all your company information housed on one easy to navigate platform
  2. People can communicate with your company instantly/easily
  3. All necessary information customers need from you is at their fingertips
  4. The business is automatically looked at as being professional (your design is important for this)
  5. It shows the company is serious about their products or services as a website is a big investment of time and money

From the few points above, you can see it is important to develop a digital presence but to have it all lead into one central location (your website) that you own and manage.

With advancements in technology and web design software, your website can be grown to be a fully functional 24/7 sales person that attracts customers without your constant monitoring.

Tying in your social media platforms to your website is highly beneficial. All your posts and adverts should be aimed to lead people to your site and the site should ideally close them in on a sale or gain interest.

In Conclusion

The biggest reason for having a website for me personally is incase for some reason Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn shut down…. I still have a website that I can use to market, attract and interact with potential clients.
